Kitchen Hack: Storing Asparagus

Did you ever wonder why asparagus is displayed standing up at the grocery store? It’s not because it looks pretty but it keeps it fresh. The secret is to keep the vegetable cool and damp. Store your asparagus in the fridge standing up in 1-2 inches of water. You can cover it with a plastic bag to avoid cross contamination with other foods. If the water gets cloudy, change it out, and your asparagus will stay fresh for up to a week.
